Latest weighing systems from Chronos Richardson

Chronos Richardson say their new E-series net weighers meets the highest demands for accuracy and performance across a range of bagging applications and related industries.

The precision weighing systems are available in either single- or double-weigher combinations, or as a system-compatible integrated module in bagging lines for a weigher range from 5kg to 50kg per weighment. Larger weighments are available on request.

The company’s E55 F1 high-capacity net weigher, for example, can achieve outputs of more than 2,000 weighments per/h. It features state-of-the-art servo technology for accurate control of the dosing device and precision weighing accuracy at high speed.

Chronos Richardson’s E55 NXT net weigher, meanwhile, is equipped with advanced load-cell weighing technology and three cleaning doors for enhanced and easier cleaning access. It also features an optimized weigh hopper, with stainless steel contact parts as standard, to ensure hygienic bulk weighing and further easy cleaning.

The E55 NXT series can be easily integrated into facilities, as its dimensions have not changed. All models, including the new F1 variant, are suitable for all industries and can also be retrofitted into bagging plants.

Another new product to emerge from Chronos Richardson’s research and development programme is their motorized bag gripper assembly, which provides robot palletizers with a ‘5th movement axis’ for precision bag positioning.

The gripper’s special operating technique is said to allow end-users to achieve quality loaded pallets. It can be retrofitted on to existing robot palletizers and was originally designed to palletize cement valve bags and accurately position the filled bags close to each other in the layer for a good interlocking pattern.

The gripper can also be programmed to create a formation of square-sided loaded pallets by limiting the compression of lower bags. In addition, Chronos Richardson have developed a second version of their bag gripper for open-mouth bag applications, particularly for those that contain fluidized products.

The gripper allows the filled bags to be overlapped to provide an optimum interlocking layer pattern for stable loaded pallets. The unit, however, does not pick and move bags in the conventional way from the side, but from the bottom of the bag and by supporting the bag lengthwise.

With a special pivoting chute (in the pick up area) and motorized gripper, Chronos Richardson say it is possible to overlap a bag by up to 30% of its length.
