Lafarge contract for Mogensen

Lafarge Aggregates have ordered two heavy-duty vibratory feeders from Mogensen for their flagship Mountsorrel Quarry in Leicestershire.

The feeders will be installed under the primary crusher’s crash boxes to collect and discharge 1,650 tonnes/h each of –450mm dense, abrasive granite on to the primary conveyors. The units, which are lined with chromide-carbide wear plates, will replace obsolete electro-magnetic units. Power is provided in each case by two side-mounted Invicta type BL 60-105/6 rotary electric vibrators each rated at 6,200W. The mode of vibration is linear, 9mm peak-to-peak (machine unloaded) and at a frequency of 960 rev/min. The feeder control panel has been designed by Invicta’s Drives and Controls division and incorporates a Teco-Westinghouse frequency-inverter system.
