IQ-endorsed EPC-UK seminars

EPC-UK will once again be holding a series of four nationwide seminars designed to support and progress the professional development of all those working within blasting operations in the extraction industry by promoting best practice.

As in previous years EPC-UK, together with the Institute of Quarrying, will be endorsing each seminar as a six-hour CPD event.

The current list of topics to be covered by the seminars includes:

  • Traceability of explosives – the final hurdle.
  • Latest thoughts on the security of explosives, particularly with regards to counterterrorism.
  • Monitoring of explosives performance.
  • Understanding blast vibration frequencies in relation to environmental control.
  • Flyrock avoidance.
  • Publications from the QNJAC committee.

The dates and venues for the four seminars are: Wednesday 10 April 2013, at the Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld; Wednesday 17 April 2013, at the Low Wood Hotel, Windermere; Tuesday 30 April 2013, at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel, Nottingham; and Wednesday 8 May 2013, at the Hilton Newport, Gwent.

Attendance at the seminars is by invitation only. While attendance is free to those invited, EPC-UK reserve the right to make a charge for anyone who books to attend but fails to turn up or send a substitute.
