Hopkinson Waste Group complete HR Skip Hire acquisition

Hopkinson Waste look to expand

Company expands waste-recycling business portfolio with key acquisition

DERBYSHIRE-based Hopkinson Waste Group have announced the strategic acquisition of HR Skip Hire, bringing together two highly respected and long-established waste-management and skip hire businesses that serve a broad customer base in Sheffield, north Nottingham, Derbyshire, and the surrounding areas.

Jules Gaylor, managing director of Hopkinson Waste Group, said: ‘Our strategy is about acquiring and investing in companies with long-term sustainable growth potential, strong ethical values, and excellent environmental credentials. HR Skip Hire is a superb fit for us.’

Both Hopkinson Waste and HR Skip Hire aim to develop and grow their respective brands by merging operations and utilizing capacity within their existing sites. The businesses are ideally positioned to expand and service the wider local and regional areas.

Hopkinson Waste say the recent acquisition is part of further acquisition and growth plans to maximize their recycling and skip-hire operations. It also follows the retirement of David Hopkinson, founder of Hopkinson Waste Group, and his sale of the business to its current owners earlier in the year.

Mr Gaylor added: ‘David created a magnificent legacy, and we are excited to be custodians and deliver this next chapter in environmental excellence.’
