Hoddam choose Mercedes
Hoddam Contracting, based in Ecclefechan, have bought, in a part-exchange deal, three six-wheel lorries from Dumfries-based Mercedes dealer Ciceley Commercials.
The 26-tonne 330hp Axor 2633 models are fitted with 6m3 Hymix drums. They join Hoddam’s fleet that comprises two other six-wheeled Mercedes mixers, as well as four tippers and a tractor unit of various marques.
Spencer Basnett, concrete manager, who joined Hoddam Contracting in 1988 to spearhead the development of their readymixed concrete business, commented: ‘Experience has proved the Mercedes chassis to be extremely reliable, with very little downtime.We also enjoy a great relationship with Ciceley Commercials.The dealer’s workshop team are very professional and helpful, while its stocking arrangements with Hymix meant that our new mixers were on the road just a couple of weeks after we’d placed the order.’
