Equipment manufacturer strengthens distribution network in Serbia with appointment of West Balkans Machinery

HITACHI Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) have appointed West Balkans Machinery as new distributors of their full range of construction equipment in Serbia. Products include: mini-, medium- and large-size Zaxis excavators; rigid dumptrucks; ZW wheel loaders; and Hitachi Sumitomo crawler cranes.

West Balkans Machinery were founded in 1996 under the name Yugo-Dizel doo, specializing in supplying equipment for the mining, quarrying and construction sectors. The company has 57 employees and operates from a 4,763 sq m facility in Simanovci, near Belgrade.

West Balkans Machinery have seven sales departments, as well as teams dedicated to service, logistics, accounting, marketing and quality. The Hitachi segment consists of two sales representatives, two service technicians and a fully equipped Hitachi service vehicle.

‘We appreciate the strong and proactive support that we have received from Hitachi,’ said Sanja Vukovic, quality and marketing manager. ‘We are united as one team and able to offer a high level of support to the local market and make our customers feel valued. Although the construction industry in Serbia has faced many challenges in recent times, the country is now in a phase of transition. This should see an increase in the number of jobs and projects, as well as the level of investment from abroad.’

She continued: ‘It can be difficult for contractors to buy new construction equipment in Serbia and our customers prefer durable machines supplied with 24-hour technical support. In this respect, Hitachi is helping us to achieve our mission of building relationships and securing customers for life.’
