Hillhead team complete new IOSH course

Hillhead team training

Members of the Hillhead 2016 organizing team complete IOSH Working Safely in Quarries course launched by Safety Coaching

The IOSH-approved one-day course is aimed at all levels of personnel within quarries and surface mining operations throughout the world.

The course is free from formal presentations and promotes involvement among participants through a series of interactive exercises, visual observations and discussion groups. It has been specifically designed to map out the risks associated with the quarries and surface mining sector. Following completion of the exercises, delegates complete a short multi-choice assessment and a series of risk assessment scenarios in order to successfully complete the course.

Richard Bradbury, Hillhead event director, commented: ‘The team enjoyed the interactive nature of the course and it helped cement our awareness of the many hazards associated with quarrying. I would also recommend it as an invaluable tool to improve workforce engagement in safety.’
