High-precision gear from Centa

Centa Transmissions have launched their new hollow-bore Fine Cyclo F2C-C precision gear for motion control and precision positioning. The unit, a new addition to the Fine Cyclo range, allows shafts, cables, pipes, wires etc to be threaded through the centre of the gear, making it compatible for robotic, turntable, satellite, radar, camera-mount and other similar applications requiring this feature.

The F2C-C comes with all the benefits of the existing Fine Cyclo range, including impact resistance with 500% shock-load capability, low inertia and zero backlash design.

Michael Sykes, Centa Transmissions gear division manager, commented: ‘This new hollow-bore Fine Cyclo gear has been specifically designed to deliver in a very demanding market and for applications where backlash must be fully eliminated, such as machine, robotic and satellite-tracking applications.’

In addition the gear unit is maintenance free with no need for further lubrication. The F2C-C is available in three sizes as individual units or it can be tailored into a bespoke motion-control solution.
