Hewitt Robins supply screens to Blackwater Aggregates

Hewitt Robins have installed and commissioned two new Vibrex 2.5m x 6.0m inclined double-deck screens for Blackwater Aggregates in Essex.

Owned and operated as a joint-venture partnership between CEMEX and Gent-Fairhead & Co., the site processes some 800,000 tonnes a year of sand and gravel for both local and national markets.

Hewitt Robins’ remit was to design, install and commission two new screens to fit into the existing structure, reducing costs on both installation and allowing the old screening media to be incorporated in to the new design.

Patrick Wigg, production manager, commented: ‘Hewitt Robins made the complete process run smoothly and efficiently from the start to finish. The screens themselves are clearly of a robust design and build and have undoubtedly improved the operation a Blackwater Aggregates.’
