Hanson appoints new MD

HANSON Quarry Products Europe have appointed a new managing director to head their expanding UK aggregates business. Mike Ogden will report directly to chief executive Simon Vivian and will co-ordinate the company’s regional aggregates activities together with its construction and recycling businesses. He joins the company from Hanson Australia where he has been chief executive officer since last year.

Mr Ogden started his career with Pioneer Concrete in 1976 as a graduate trainee and subsequently held various regional management posts in the UK before being appointed managing director of Pioneer Israel in 1995. In 1999 he moved to Australia where he was chief general manager of Pioneer Construction Materials. He became chief executive officer of Hanson Australia after Hanson’s £1.6 billion acquisition of Pioneer last year.
