Flexible friend

Thornaby-on-Tees-based Scott Bros have recently taken delivery of a King GTS 44 stepframe trailer.

"The new trailer joins Scott Bros’ fleet of three low-loaders used for haulage of the company’s dumptrucks, tracked shovels and tracked excavators. Robin Lush, transport manager, said: ‘When we were considering the specification for our new low-loader, we were looking for maximum flexibility. The deck was slightly longer and wider than other makes, and the swan neck was longer as well. These features were really the deciding factors for us — a few centimetres on a trailer this size may not seem like much, but it can make all the difference in an operation like ours.’"

"To further improve flexibility, Scott Bros specified extra-wide double-folding mantis ramps which can either be positioned close together for the loading of small equipment or moved out for loading wider items of plant. The extra-long ramps with a loading angle of just 9o also ease the loading of equipment with very low ground clearance."
