L&W Wilson invest in new Maximus screener after successful Demo Days event

CUMBRIA-based L&W Wilson have recently taken delivery of the UK’s first Maximus 516 vibrating scalper from local suppliers Taylor & Braithwaite. The decision to purchase the new machine came after Taylor & Braithwaite recently held a three-day working demonstration event at L&W Wilson’s Roan Edge Quarry, near Kendal.

The heavy-duty 516 scalper is currently on site working alongside the quarry operator’s other construction equipment. The scalper is being used to screen a wide variety of materials, including aggregates and topsoil.

 

Commenting on the company’s decision to purchase the 516 unit, Alan Wilson, managing director of L&W Wilson, said it was down to ‘competitive costs, excellent machine capabilities and the knowledge of Taylor & Braithwaite’s staff’.

L&W Wilson is a family-run business that has been established for more than 40 years. The company has grown significantly and now supplies various construction services including: civil engineering; recycling; demolition; and plant hire.

Mr Wilson said: ‘After seeing the 516 vibrating scalper in operation at the demonstration event and having the opportunity to test the machine myself, I was really impressed and thought it was ideal to support our operations at Roan Edge Quarry. The knowledge and support received from Taylor & Braithwaite is always excellent, so we had no hesitation with them in supplying us with this machine.’

Ian Burton, sales director of Taylor & Braithwaite, added: ‘We are thrilled with the sale of our first Maximus machine in the UK to L&W Wilson. We already have a well-established business relationship with the company, which we hope to continue in the future.’
