Fatality at Glensanda Quarry

A MAN has been killed in a traffic accident at Aggregate Industries’ Glensanda Quarry on the remote Morvern peninsula, near Oban, in the west Highlands of Scotland.

The incident, which resulted in the death of an employee of one of the company’s contractors, is understood to have occurred shortly before 6pm on Sunday 18 October.

A spokesperson for Aggregate Industries said: ‘We are currently working with the authorities to assist and support their investigation and at this stage it would be inappropriate to make further comment. Our thoughts are with those affected by yesterday’s incident.’

On Monday police named the victim as 24-year-old Kenneth Campbell from Dunbeg, near Oban, who was a fitter at the quarry.
