Express Asphalt extend range

Express Asphalt have invested in the latest state-of-the-art technology for a new additive system and improved bitumen storage facilities at their Exeter plant based at Rockbeare Hill Quarry.

As well as providing the ability to offer new product lines, the changes will ensure improved environmental performance due to more efficient operation and better health and safety procedures through increased storage capacity and a fail-safe off-loading system.

The Exeter plant provides black and coloured macadam and asphalt, sub-base, drystone, asphalt emulsions and protective equipment. The plant is set up to offer a predominantly collection service for local term maintenance, utility and small asphalt contracts, based in and around the Exeter area, in addition to commercial light industrial and consumer projects.

Commenting on the improvements, Mat Gosling, territory sales manager for Express Asphalt, said: ‘Significant capital expenditure has been made to provide a new system which allows the blending of bitumen, thereby adding extra product lines. A new additive system also provides automated dosing of three different additives to the mix, making products easier to store and maintain. Overall we hope the programme will further enhance the service we offer to customers, as well as reducing waiting and improving vehicle turnaround times.’
