Excalibur audiometer
Under the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, noise testing is compulsory in workplaces where exposure levels have exceeded. Ultimately, this is an occupational hazard that, with the right equipment, can be easily prevented.
Scarborough-based Castle Group Ltd have, therefore, developed the Excalibur audiometer for audiometric testing. The new audiometer simplifies the testing process by using the power of a PC or laptop to efficiently carry out the testing and store results.
Key benefits of the Excalibur include: the ability to compare new data with previous test results for category 1 analysis; test data can be easily analysed to provide management statistics; and regular software updates mean the user will never be caught out by any changes in the regulations or codes of practice.
Castle also offer a three-day training course in industrial audiometry, which is designed to give delegates an in-depth working knowledge of audiometric testing programmes through practical learning. The course has been approved by the British Society of Audiology (BSA) and focuses heavily on Health and Safety Executive guidance.
