EvoQuip introduce the Bison 280

EvoQuip Bison 280

A ‘compact with impact’ is how EvoQuip describe their new tracked mobile jaw crusher

NORTHERN Ireland-based EvoQuip, specialist manufacturers of compact crushing and screening equipment, have announced the launch of the Bison 280 jaw crusher.

Peter O’Donnell, managing director of Peter O’Donnell & Sons, who have been putting the new machine through its paces in an arduous granite application at their quarry in Ireland, said the productivity and performance of the EvoQuip Bison 280 had surpassed the company’s expectations.

‘While the machine itself is very compact, it is definitely not a lightweight, as it consistently produced a quality product at a high throughput and low cost per tonne in our quarry,’ remarked Mr O’Donnell.

Matt Dickson, product line director with EvoQuip, said: ‘The Bison 280 jaw crusher is a machine that offers versatility with supreme durability, while also providing our customers with excellent productivity and fuel efficiency.

‘The quick set-up times, simple intuitive operation and ease of transport makes this machine an ideal solution for all applications.’

The compact footprint of the Bison 280 makes it both easy to transport and particularly suitable for working in urban areas, whilst the machine’s rapid set-up time and intuitive control system allow the operator to be crushing just minutes after unloading it from the lorry. The operator can also adjust the crusher setting easily, without the need for any tools, using the user-friendly hydraulic jaw-adjustment system.

According to EvoQuip, the Bison 280 offers the customer exceptional flexibility as it can be used in a wide range of applications, from granite, basalt, and gravel, to construction and demolition waste, recycled concrete etc.

The machine uses a fuel-efficient, high-performance direct drive system to power the jaw crusher. This, together with the simple-to-operate jaw adjustment, allows the operator to optimize the material throughput and reduction ratio, whilst ensuring the best fuel efficiency.

In addition, a number of other key design features help ensure optimal material flow throughout the crushing process. For example, the vibrating feeder automatically regulates the flow of material into the crusher based on the engine load, thus ensuring optimal choke feeding of the jaw crusher, whilst generous under-crusher clearance and tunnelling ensures an unrestricted flow of material even in the harshest of recycling applications.

EvoQuip say serviceability has also been integral throughout the design and development of the Bison 280, with excellent access to the engine, hydraulics, service and refuelling points, thereby ensuring ease of maintenance for the operator.
