EIG 2020 – Call for papers

EIG 2020

Extractive Industry Geology Conference 2020 issues first call for papers with a deadline of 31 December

FOLLOWING the great success of the 2018 Extractive Industry Geology (EIG) Conference in Durham, the 21st EIG Conference will be held at The Peter Chalk Centre, University of Exeter, from 9–10 July 2020, with pre- and post-conference field trips on 8 and 11 July.

The EIG Conference, which is the principal event for sharing knowledge, scientific research and good practice in the field of applied geology within the UK minerals industry, is aimed at geo-professionals, including those involved in geology, hydrogeology, geotechnical engineering, restoration and after-use, reserves and resources, and quarry design and planning.

Papers are invited on the usual broad range of topics, from geotechnics and quarry design to hydrogeology, hydrology, site investigation, resources and reserves, mineral planning and regulation, quarry restoration and environmental issues, and recent case studies from mineral operators. Papers are also encouraged on any other relevant topic that is likely to appeal to an EIG audience.

Those wishing to present a paper at EIG 2020, whether as a five-minute poster presentation or a full 25-minute oral presentation, should submit an abstract of 200–300 words by 31 December 2019. All submissions will be acknowledged and decisions regarding their acceptance will be made in February 2020. For further information or to submit an abstract, contact: papers@eigconferences.com
