DXB Pump & Power engine flex allowance extended

DXB portable pump

UK’s newest pump manufacturer able to offer Tier 3b solutions to quarry customers until 2020

DXB Pump & Power Ltd, the UK’s newest quarry and mining pump manufacturers, have been granted a further 150 engines in their flex allowance until 2020, allowing customers to continue to order non-AdBlue engines until 2020.

The 150 Tier 3b engines, supplied by JCB, will allow the company to extend its offering of 4.5-litre pumpsets up to 120kW with flows up to 1,400 cubic metres per hour and pressures up to 140m (14 bar) from a four-cylinder turbocharged engine.

Simon Ruffles, managing director of DXB Pump & Power, said: ‘We are delighted that our application to extend our flex allowance to a further 150 engines takes our total allowance to more than 200 engines for these sizes until 2020, which is fantastic not only for us, but also our customers, who are finding themselves under pressure to source pumpsets with AdBlue requirements.’

He continued: ‘The JCB 444 engine is simply the finest engine range for equipment like ours, offering power bands from 45kW right through to 120kW, which, when combined with our extensive range of pumps, means our quarry customers and those that buy pumps to rent to the quarries, do not have to concern themselves about AdBlue and higher maintenance costs.’

The DXB range of engine-driven portable pumps are available in Tier 3b, Tier 4 and Tier 5 for various markets up to 445kW, but the largest demand is for 3in to 8in sets used in quarries for general dewatering or as wash plant feed pumps.

All DXB pumpsets are available with DXB control systems that not only monitor the engine, but can also monitor the health and operation of the pump, allowing for optimization of the running of the pumps to reduce fuel burn and cost of operation, all from the quarry manager’s desk.

Mr Ruffles concluded: ‘With pumpsets that are more than 85% efficient and powered by these great JCB engines, we are confident that there is no other pump on the market that pumps so much water over any distance and uses less fuel than ours, and to a quarry or mining company running pumps every day for eight to 12 hours a day, that could mean a fuel saving of more than £20,000 per year per quarry.
