Doosan launch new DX230WMH-5 material handler

Doosan DX230WMH-5 material handler

Latest 23-tonne machine raises the bar in materials handling duties in waste and recycling

DOOSAN Construction Equipment have expanded their material handler range with the launch of the new DX230WMH-5, which joins the recently introduced 25-tonne DX250WMH-5 model. Both machines have been specially developed for materials handling duties in the solid waste, recycling and demolition market sectors.

Powered by a six-cylinder, turbocharged Doosan DL06PA water-cooled diesel engine (174hp), the DX230WMH-5 features two arm cylinders for extra balance and increased all-round stability when using attachments, such as grapples. The engine meets Stage IV emission regulations without the need for a diesel particulate filter, but through the use of cooled exhaust gas recirculation and selective catalyst reduction after-treatment technologies.

To match the machine to the application at hand, the DX230WMH-5 is equipped with Doosan’s Smart Power Control (SPC) system which features four power modes: Power+ (P+); Power; Standard (S); and Economy (E). In addition to the power modes, the material handler includes a lifting work mode that provides increased pump torque, low rev/min and an automatic power boost.

A key feature of the Doosan material handler is its elevating cab, which can be adjusted to a provide maximum elevated height of 2.5m, giving the operator exceptional visibility and the best view of the job in hand, together with the rear-view camera in the cab.

The material handler is also easy to operate with ergonomic joysticks and a steering wheel, complemented by a 7in wide LCD colour screen that displays various camera views and key machinery information (eg maintenance history).

Like the existing DX250WMH-5, the new DX230WMH-5 material handler has been designed to meet the needs of operators looking for a machine with higher performance and stability in the waste and recycling environment.

The DX230WMH-5 has, therefore, been built with both front and rear stabilizers, a boom and arm specifically designed for material handling tasks. To carry out these applications, the machine has a maximum pin height 11.7m, a maximum operating reach is 10.1m and a maximum working depth is 4.2m.

The waste-handling unit can also be specified with a range of options, such as a gooseneck, straight arms, solid tyres and FOGS guarding, as well as different attachments to match the customers’ applications whilst enhancing their productivity. The DX230WMH-5 is factory-installed with the DoosanConnect telematics system, which provides real-time data monitoring on the machine’s operational performance, location and availability.
