Doosan and Bobcat visitor attractions at Hillhead

Doosan at Hillhead

The Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment stand at the Hillhead 2012 Exhibition was busy throughout the three days of the show. The company showed new Doosan excavators, wheel loaders, articulated dumptrucks (ADTs) and high-capacity telehandlers along with products from the Bobcat and Doosan Portable Power ranges.

Kevin Lynch, business development manager for Doosan International UK Ltd, said: ‘The increased footfall was noticeable from 2010 and the opportunity to showcase and demonstrate new products such as the Doosan ADTs and wheel loaders will further increase awareness of these products. Several orders were completed during the exhibition and we received a number of strong enquiries from new and existing customers to be followed up on after the show ended.’

The increased footfall was confirmed by 2012 visitor numbers of over 17,000 visitors, up 10% from the 15,500 recorded in 2010. Throughout the three days of the show, there was more new plant and equipment shown than ever before, presented by a record 459 exhibitors. On the Doosan stand, visitors were able to get their first look at the new generation Stage IIIB compliant DL550-3 wheel loader, the top-of-the-range model in the new family of Doosan large wheel loaders and the new Doosan DT160 high capacity telehandler. The stand also included the Doosan DX520LC crawler excavator.

There were also more live demonstrations and Doosan equipment was very prominent in this popular area of the showground where the new DL450-3 wheel loader was being worked hard along with the company’s new DA40 ADT, also being shown publicly for the first time in the UK. Demonstrating the DA40 for the first time was Nigel Horton, who has over 30 years of experience operating all makes of ADTs and crawler/wheeled excavators. According to Nigel, the DA40 offers an increase in power, comfort, safety and fuel efficiency compared to other machines on the market.

The display of Bobcat compact equipment included the new 2.6-tonne zero-tail-swing E26 compact excavator, the new TL470 telehandler model and the company’s popular S130 skid-steer loader. The stand display was completed by the first appearance at Hillhead of the new 12/250 stage IIIB compliant portable compressor from Doosan Portable Power.
