COVID-19: Quinn Building Products cease production

Quinn

Company joins growing list of firms temporarily suspending business operations due to coronavirus

FOLLOWING on from the announcement by the Irish Government last Friday night [27 March] and the continued concern regarding the impact of the COVID-19 virus, Quinn Building Products have ceased production at all of their facilities with immediate effect.

In addition, the company says it will now stop all dispatch of products with limited exceptions, for example if a customer requires product to support an essential service or for health and safety reasons.

Until now, Quinn Building Products had been implementing measures to continue trading while ensuring the safety of both their staff and customers during the current period of uncertainty.

Chief executive officer Liam McCaffrey said: ‘We find ourselves in the midst of a very difficult and uncertain situation and need to take all necessary measures to slow and eventually stop the spread of this virus.

‘These arrangements will remain in place until Easter Tuesday, 14 April, and are subject to extension after this date in line with government guidance.’

Quinn Building Products have now joined a growing list of UK building products companies, including Breedon, Wienerberger, Ibstock, Forterra and others, that have temporarily suspended production at all or most of their operations until the situation improves.
