Bruce Engineering supply bespoke sand processing plant

Irwin Aggregates continue long-standing relationship with Irish plant manufacturers

Bruce Engineering have worked with Keith Davenport of Irwin’s Quality Aggregates in Coalisland, Co-Tyrone over the last 20 years to help create solutions for their specialist aggregate processing operations.

Irwin’s have been supplying sand and aggregates since the 1930s. They have their own deposits of raw material and a sand processing plant from which they can produce a large range of materials.

Over the last 20 years Irwin’s have established themselves as specialists in the field of sand and have diversified from the general construction industry to the supply of specialist materials for the pre-cast concrete market, the sports market as well as landscaping and water filtration applications.

In order to become a specialist in these markets, Irwin’s required more than the standard sand processing plant. They needed to work with someone who would take the extra time and effort to develop ideas and turn problems into solutions. Through word of mouth Keith had heard Bruce Engineering manufactured high-performing electro-magnetic feeders, grizzlies, vibrating screens, de-watering screens etc and they were also renowned for specialist bespoke design. This is what really interested Keith as they have an existing plant and needed someone to design, manufacture and install a plant that would fit and work alongside this machinery.

Keith commented: ‘From the first project I worked with Bruce, they spent time on the site with me to understand the problem and came back with a solution in a matter of days. The results of our association have enabled Irwin’s to consistently produce high-quality products that meet onerous specifications and satisfy the most demanding needs of our customers. After the service I received from Bruce I have never needed to look elsewhere.’

Since then Irwin’s have many Bruce bespoke products in their plant including: electro-magnetic feeders, vibrating screens, hoppers, belt feeders and bagging plants.

‘With Bruce’s range of products I was able to produce sand and mixes for the tees, greens and bunkers at the new Nick Faldo-designed golf course at Lough Erne Hotel in Enniskillen, Co-Fermanagh.’

Irwin’s supplied all the USGA United States golf association Rootzone for the construction of their greens.
