Brokk introduce ‘world’s most powerful demolition robot’
New Brokk 900 delivers 25% more power than its predecessor and sets new industry benchmark for reliability
BROKK have unveiled the brand-new Brokk 900, which is said to be the world’s largest and most powerful demolition robot. It builds upon and improves on the success of its predecessor – the Brokk 800 – taking a big step up in terms of power and performance.
The Brokk 900, for example, has 25% more power and meets the new industry benchmark for reliability that the Swedish manufacturer introduced with its SmartPower technology. The next-generation product innovation comes in the form of two models: the standard Brokk 900 with the most powerful breaker ever put on a demolition robot; and the Brokk 900 Rotoboom with a high-precision rotating boom system.
Leveraging the success and experiences of the 800 predecessor model, Brokk have developed the new 900 robot to meet the extreme requirements of the toughest hard rock underground work. The design and engineering of the machine is reinforced, power has increased and its operation is more precise, whilst the breaker attachment packs a punch.
And all this with almost no increase in size and weight – a signature Brokk development. The standard Brokk 900 comes with the option of two different hydraulic breakers, both of which are more powerful than the breaker on the predecessor Brokk 800.
The BHB 1500 is a 1,500kg breaker for demolishing the hardest materials. Paired with the hydraulic power of the Brokk 900, it delivers an exceptional powerful punch in each blow. The slightly lighter BHB 1300 breaker is used for maximum productivity in heavy concrete demolition applications.
The Brokk 900 Rotoboom is designed for maximum flexibility in applications where access and precision are more important than power. The machine features 360-degree continuous boom rotation with smooth movements for total precision and is heat protected for extreme high-temperature refractory work in metal plants. The Rotoboom version is also equipped with Brokk’s patented heat-shielded hydraulic breaker.
The Brokk 900 offers two power options – a electric version or diesel powertrain. The former is the obvious choice for both lowest cost of operation and most environmentally friendly machine at work. The new diesel engine, however, is not far behind and meets the current emissions standards – the US standard EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V standard.
Serviceability has been improved on the Brokk 900. Whilst the machine is large and weighs 11 tons, it does not require heavy lifting and has been specially designed to be serviced by one engineer/technician.
Martin Krupicka, CEO of Brokk, commented: ‘All in all, the new Brokk 900 represents what we are known for. More power in a compact and smart package. And that stays true even for our biggest demolition robot.’
Delivery of the new Brokk 900 demolition robot will start at the end of second quarter 2021.
