Bristol to benefit from new recycling venture

TARMAC and Churngold Transport and Recycling Ltd, the South West’s largest bulk earthworks contractor and the region’s market leader in the production of recycled aggregates, have formed a joint-venture company, TCRA Ltd – Tarmac Churngold Recycled Aggregates, to provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ for recycled aggregate requirements.

Operating from a 10-acre site in Filton, TCRA will be the largest facility of its kind in the Bristol area. The company have the capability to process up to 250,000 tonnes of inert waste a year and can draw from a combined fleet of over 100 delivery vehicles.

Martin Riley, area director for Tarmac South West, said the partnership would bring together a wealth of experience and expertise. ‘Major developments planned for the region have resulted in increased demand for sustainable building materials and TCRA are ideally placed to service that need with great road and rail links,’ he commented.

John Barcham, managing director of Churngold Transport and Recycling Ltd, added: ‘TCRA will offer a one-stop recycling shop, accepting and processing inert waste and supplying quality-assured recycled materials back into the local market. This joint venture will seek to utilize Tarmac and Churngold resources to best advantage, which can only improve our already high levels of customer service.’
