Brigade Electronics appoint first IT director

Rachel Hutson

Rachel Hutson joins the board in new role as group IT and communications director

TO meet the technological advances in vehicle safety systems and the demands of an increasingly connected world, Brigade Electronics Group have appointed Rachel Hutson as group IT and communications director to support the company’s growth.

Ms Hutson is the company’s first IT director, which demonstrates the requirements for greater digital expertise, not only internally, but also in terms of the development of future innovative products.

Brigade’s portfolio has grown considerably over the past 42 years, since the introduction of the reversing alarm in 1976, and now includes 360° camera monitor systems and remote access digital recording systems with managed services.

Brigade say that as technology advances, interconnected and integrated services will increasingly be the way forward and will require sound IT infrastructure, which Rachel is fully able to support.

Managing director Philip Hanson-Abbott said: ‘In this digital environment, and also because of her proven ability to see the ‘bigger picture’ and take a strategic approach, I – with the full support of the other directors – considered it appropriate to invite Rachel to join the board as group IT and communications director.

‘I am delighted that she has accepted. As the first female director of Brigade, Rachel will bring a fresh and invigorating perspective to the board.’
