Brevini introduce ‘higher power’ gearboxes

Warrington-based company extends its S-Series planetary gearbox range to offer torque ratings up to 2,500kNm

BREVINI have expanded their S-Series high-torque gearboxes to deliver even higher capacity for the most demanding applications. Where the existing eight models cover torque ranges from 34kNm up to the 370kNm, the five new harmonically developed sizes cover nominal torque ranges from 530kNm up to 2,500kNm as standard, with even larger sizes available on request.

The S-Series planetary gearboxes has been developed to provide the medium and high power transmission markets with a family of products that are easy to configure, offer the highest levels of torque, and are both space-saving and extremely reliable, helping to ensure maximum machine availability.

The S-Series planetary range has been designed to offer optimal performance with minimum size and has the ability to offer between a 40-60% reduction in terms of size and weight against traditional gear solutions. The result is an extremely robust yet cost-effective solution.

To tailor the gearbox to the exact requirements of the application, the gearboxes can provide up to four reduction stages as standard, with both in-line and right-angle versions. Additional reduction stages can easily be incorporated to achieve extremely high reduction ratios, while maintaining high efficiency. Output shaft options include: female splined; hollow cylindrical; male cylindrical; and male splined versions.

Brevini say they can combine the S-Series gearboxes with other gear technologies to provide an integrated solution with optimal power transmission characteristics for any given application.

With the five new S-Series models (S5000, S7500, S10000, S15000 and S20000), Brevini now has a single range of standard planetary gearboxes that can offer torque capacities from less than 1kNm up to 2,500kNm.

The new sizes provide a compact and reliable solution to applications that involve processing large quantities of materials in a continuous cycle process where resistance to stress, high-quality production and reliability are critical.
