Lee Netting appointed director and general manager, and Luke Smith to take up senior management role later this year

BRETT Group have announced the appointment of Lee Netting as director and general manager of Brett Concrete.

In his previous role as business and general manager with Tarmac, Mr Netting had responsibility for fixed ready-mixed concrete plants in the east of England, the national mobile ready-mixed concrete business as well as the London and East England mini-mix business serving the domestic and smaller trade markets.

Commenting on the appointment, Alan Smith, chief operating officer of Brett Group, said: ‘With a proven track record of delivering business improvements in commercial activities and operational process efficiencies, Lee will continue to develop our Concrete business, building on the very significant progress made to date.’

In addition, it has been announced that Luke Smith is to join Brett later this year to lead the company’s ready-mixed concrete business in London. Mr Smith has a track record of success in this market with both Hanson Premix and latterly as managing director of London Concrete.

He will manage and develop Brett’s ready-mixed concrete business inside the M25, initially heading up the team that operates the company’s four current plants at Bow, Croydon, Rainham and Romford, as well as launching two new plants at Wembley and Silvertown (Peruvian Wharf), which open this year.

Company chairman Bill Brett said: ‘This appointment reflects our intention to match our significantly enhanced London plant capability with a focused local team who are really close to customers and the operations. We anticipate Luke joining Brett in the summer, and further announcements will be made when timescales are confirmed.’
