Bobcat to enhance dealer network in southern England

BOBCAT Europe have announced plans to enhance their existing dealer network covering southern England, in a move to position the company within the top three compact equipment suppliers in the UK by 2012.

According to Neil Woodfin, vice-president of sales and marketing for Bobcat in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), negotiations are under way with a number of prospective new dealers to augment the existing Bobcat dealer network, and the company is inviting approaches from other parties interested in setting up new Bobcat dealerships to serve this region.

‘As the world’s leading manufacturer of compact construction equipment, we want to reinforce the company’s presence in southern England, so that both existing and new customers have the opportunity to benefit from the Bobcat experience that has given us the market-leading position in Europe. We are looking for independent distributors who share our vision for market-leading customer service,’ said Mr Woodfin.

The expanded distribution network will be responsible for marketing the full range of Bobcat products, including: skid-steer loaders, compact tracked loaders, all-wheel-steer loaders, articulated wheel loaders, compact excavators, telescopic handlers, utility vehicles and attachments.

Bobcat Europe, based in Waterloo, Belgium, are responsible for the sales, marketing and aftermarket service of Bobcat equipment in EMEA, via a network of company branches and approximately 170 independent authorized distributors. In 2006 Bobcat Europe operations achieved a record performance, with a growth in turnover of nearly 25%.

During the last seven years, Bobcat Europe have expanded their manufacturing, logistics and product-support operations in Europe, with the aim of producing over 80% of the products they sell in the region by the end of 2008. The company says this will significantly reduce delivery times to its dealers in the UK.
