Board appointments at Breedon
BREEDON Aggregates Ltd, the UK’s largest independent aggregates group, have appointed Ian Peters as group finance director and Susie Farnon as a non-executive director. Both will take up their appointments on 1 November 2010.
Mr Peters has more than 20 years’ experience in the European aggregates industry, initially in financial controller roles within Hanson’s UK aggregates business. Following the demerger of Hanson plc in 1997, he was appointed group financial controller and was involved in the completion of £2.5 billion of acquisitions.
From 2000 to 2003 he was finance and development director of Hanson Building Materials Europe. In 2004, after a year as finance director, Continental Europe and Asia, he was appointed general manager, Continental Europe.
Mr Peters joined the senior management team of Marwyn Materials Ltd in 2008 and worked closely with chairman Peter Tom and chief executive Simon Vivian on the reverse acquisition of Breedon Holdings Ltd in September 2010.
Susie Farnon was previously a banking and finance partner with KPMG Channel Islands and head of audit with KPMG Channel Islands. She has also served as president of the Guernsey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants and as a member of The States of Guernsey Audit Commission and The Guernsey Public Accounts Committee.
Ms Farnon is currently a Commissioner of The Guernsey Financial Services Commission and a director of a number of private property and investment companies.
