Bitumen level control

When a major Warrington-based bitumen manufacturer required level indication on 30 tanks a number of companies that supply level systems were invited to assess the site.

After initial discussions and quotations three companies were asked to supply equipment for evaluation. Once the equipment was installed and commissioned a 12-week trial period began. After this period Eurogauge’s MicroTek TDR level transmitter was chosen for the project.

The project manager at the site was so impressed with the performance of the system that he advised the company’s group engineer to use Eurogauge level systems at other bitumen plants within the organization; to date 50 system have been supplied.

Eurogauge have also supplied their ENT 7-STF level switch together with the ACU 2030-STF alarm control unit, which features in-built audible and visual alarms and test and mute buttons to eliminate the risk of overfills.
