Bill Brett takes over as MPA chairman

Bill Brett

Trade association appoints second of four chairmen to date to serve from an independent company

BILL Brett, chairman of Brett Group, has been appointed as chairman of the Mineral Products Association (MPA) for the next two years. Taking over from Dyfrig James, he is the second of the MPA’s four chairmen to date to serve from an independent company.

Paying tribute to Mr James’s contribution to the Association over the last two years, MPA chief executive Nigel Jackson said: ‘Members have appreciated Dyfrig’s inclusive approach and the efforts he has made to engage with all parts of the MPA, particularly in the regions and, of course, his beloved Wales. He has continued the tradition of communicating how it is possible to take a wider sectoral view for the good of all companies.

‘The MPA would like to thank Dyfrig for all his efforts and wish Bill Brett every success for his two-year tenure.’

Mr Brett, who has a wide range of commercial interests and industry involvement, said: ‘I am proud to take over the role of chairman from Dyfrig, and am keen to contribute as fully as I can to the association and its activities over the next two years. I am passionate about strengthening the unity of this great sector which is so important to the UK and the recovery.’
