Bandvulc Gripmaster BDY3 tyres

Tipper and recycling operator heaps high praise on Gripmaster BDY3 construction tyre range

BIRMINGHAM-based Paul McGowan Grab Hire have praised the performance of Bandvulc’s Gripmaster BDY3 tyres as the quality retread range continues to perform across the tipper operator’s equipment fleet.

The company operates a fleet of over 100 vehicles from its West Midlands base, providing grab and tipper hire to a diverse customer base across the UK. Established more than 20 years ago, McGowan Grab Hire manage a mixed fleet of 32-tonne grab and tipper lorries, 32-tonne flatbed trucks with cranes, and road sweepers.

The business, which is one of the largest privately owned grab-hire companies in the region, also supplies materials to the construction industry and operates a recycling centre for both domestic and commercial products.

As a longstanding Bandvulc client, the Paul McGowan fleet includes the Gripmaster range of on- and off-road construction tyres. The quality retread range features specialist designs for excellent handling and reliable performance on road, paired with a robust structure and tough grip tread designs to tackle off-road applications.

Jack Walden, fleet manager for Paul McGowan, said: ‘Tyres in this environment need to provide resistance to damage and grip due to the surfaces we operate on. We’ve used Bandvulc’s Gripmaster range for years and have been very impressed with the endurance the tyres provide for our hardworking vehicles.’

A tyre that has continued to draw high praise within the Bandvulc Gripmaster range is the BDY3, which features an aggressive directional tread pattern, with a wide ratio and deep tread depth providing exceptional grip and on-road stability.

The premium BDY3 tyre also features rugged shoulders to minimize operational damage, as well as Bandvulc’s unique rubber compound offering excellent resistance to cuts, chunking and damage.

Mr Walden said: ‘The BDY3 tyre is a proven performer in our quarries and not only provides resistance to damage and cuts on rough surfaces, but also provides a great solution on road too.’

Gary Williams, account manager for Bandvulc, added: ‘The Gripmaster range has been a brilliant solution for McGowan, performing journey after journey in their quarries and recycling centre. Bandvulc have been manufacturing retreads in the UK for 50 years and understand the roads and applications, and therefore the features the tyres need to have to perform in these environments.’
