Back to ERF

Long-standing ERF operators W. Robinson of Preston have returned to the marque with their latest delivery of ECT tractor units. Four Cummins-powered 11.39MT 6x2 tractors with new Crane Freuhauf bulk tippers are now in service on aggregate applications.

These first new ERF’s into the fleet were supplied through ERF’s own nationwide sales force, ERF Direct, and will be supported by P&K Truck Centre in Widnes.

W. Robinson specified the new tractors without a diff lock, reporting that the ECT’s anti-slip regulation (ASR) operates just as effectively in harsh quarry conditions.

The decision to buy new ERFs was an easy one for the company, which operates 30 used ERF tractors, all with Cummins engines and all proving extremely reliable. Managing director Bill Robinson confirmed that reliability was the key. He said the company’s existing models had proved that ERF build a solid and reliable truck, and that Cummins build the best engines on the market.

‘We are satisfied that ERF are here to stay, and with the dealer network plus a good after-sales package in place, residual values should be very attractive.’
