ARMAC buy new Extec C12 and E7

ARMAC Demolition, the Birmingham-based demolition and recycling company, have recently purchased a C12 tracked jaw crusher and an E7 apron feeder three-way-split screening system from Extec Screens & Crushers Ltd.

These two machines will be used within the company’s new recycling centre and inert landfill site, which is conveniently located adjacent to the NEC and Birmingham International Airport. Over the last few years the company’s business has boomed with concrete, brick, asphalt etc being received from a variety of sources including demolition projects, roadworks and construction sites.

Using the Extec equipment, ARMAC are currently producing some 650 tonnes/day of Type 1 and 1,000 tonnes of 6F2, with most materials being crushed and screened on site. These recycled materials are sold to road contractors, local authority civil engineering departments and construction companies.

ARMAC, who consider the Extec crushing and screening range to be the most suitable for their requirements, say they have been regular purchasers of Extec equipment over the last 10 years and have stuck with the Swadlincote-based manufacturer as their machinery provides them with excellent value for money.

Meanwhile, in Scotland Bonnar Sand & Gravel Ltd have recently purchased an Extec C12 tracked jaw crusher to deal with an increased workload at Clachan Quarry in Argyll, where the company extract hard rock from both ends of the quarry simultaneously, resulting in the processing and production of a variety of materials mainly for use in asphalt and concrete.

The Extec C-12 is reported to have had no problem in delivering required particle shape and size, while also reducing machine downtime owing to its innovative hydraulic features, such as reverse crushing action, and generous clearance underneath the jaws.

Although hard rock can sometimes be problematic for jaw crushers, the C-12 has suitably impressed Bonnar Sand & Gravel, who say the high production capability and robustness of the machine has contributed to three important goals: maximum production efficiency, minimum downtime and increased profitability.
