Appointment at Geo. Robson

Geo. Robson & Co. Ltd pride themselves on the experience and skills of their engineers and draughtsmen. With expansion and current ongoing contracts totalling £50 million, internal promotion opportunities for current staff were filled, which opened a gap for a drawing office manager.

Robson had to find the right candidate to fill the specialized, highly skilled, multi-disciplined role, needing expertise not only of engineering drawing techniques but also multiple industries and worldwide standards.

Kevin Broadley’s skills and experience fitted the bill, having 10 years’ teaching and lecturing in the engineering field. Finally finishing at Chesterfield College lecturing draughting and engineering design, previous to that actually working at Robson, so the range of industry experience was already under his belt.

Kevin had left Robson in 2003 to pursue a career in education. After successfully teaching more than a thousand students over the years he’s returned to the engineering industry, not only to run the busy technical drawing and design office but also to apply his teaching skills to aid the young apprentices through their training and apprenticeships.

Robson’s managing director, Kevin Mannion, welcomed Kevin back to the company, stating; ;With Kevin’s leadership, skills, drive and enthusiasm, Robson’s high standards of engineering will be even tougher to beat by our competitors.’
