Anti-theft key system

To combat the increasing theft of construction plant, Kubota have responded to market demands by introducing a key-based Anti-Theft system as standard equipment on their mini-excavators.

The system is based on an individually programmed key for each machine that replaces the current universal starter key. Each key has an identification code embedded in an IC chip that incorporates a state-of-the-art immobilizer system. It starts and stops the engine like a conventional key as well as opening the cab door, fuel filler cap and engine canopy. Without it the fuel, hydraulic and electrical systems are fully immobilized. Any attempt to start the machine with any other key will activate an alarm system.

Up to four black operational keys can be pre-programmed with each new machine. An additional red master key gives users the opportunity to reprogramme new black operational keys in the event of the original keys being misplaced. Once any new keys are reprogrammed, the original keys are invalidated.

An information pack on the system can be obtained via the Anti-Theft hotline on tel: (01283) 227593; fax: (01283) 552528.
