Amber Valley Developments launch multi-switch motion alarm for construction industry

UK auto electrical manufacturers Amber Valley Developments will launch their multi-switch motion alarm for tracked vehicles, which the company claim will help the way the construction industry works, at Hillhead 2010.

Named Siteminder the system takes its input signal directly from the hydraulic system and has the capability to utilise up to four separate inputs -one for each track motor. The inputs utilise adjustable pressure switches which can be set on installation to eliminate false alarms.  With an in cab mute facility the system will be available with a talking message in any language.

Amber Valley Developments has been at the forefront of vehicle safety manufacturing for over 25 years and has created the system in response to requests to solve this particular problem by its customers which is why Siteminder will prove to be such a success.

Amber Valleys Managing Director David Morewood explained "There has always been a problem with tracked vehicles as they do not have conventional gear boxes and therefore no reverse gear, it was necessary to design a system that would work with any tracked vehicle and the best method was to utilise the hydraulics".

The system also has an adjustable pressure switch, which can be set to ignore the residual hose pressures; the unit will activate the alarm every time the machine moves but NOT when it is operating other functions, thereby guaranteeing a safer working environment.
