AGGREGATE Industries UK chief executive officer Bill Bolsover has announced he will be retiring from his position in March 2010 after 38 years in the construction materials business.

Under his leadership, Aggregate Industries UK have grown to a £1.5 billion organization since they became part of the Holcim Group in 2005.

Mr Bolsover will be succeeded as CEO of Aggregate Industries UK by Alain Bourguignon, who is currently chief executive officer of Holcim Spain.

Mr Bourguignon has been with the Holcim Group for 22 years in a number of European territories and has experience of both the aggregates and ready-mixed concrete businesses.

Commenting on the changes, Benoit Koch, chairman of Aggregate Industries UK and a member of the Holcim Group Executive Committee, said: ‘We are hugely grateful to have had Bill at the helm of our UK interests for the last four years.

‘He is a dynamic and charismatic leader whose vision, strategic awareness and energy has delivered a strong performance despite difficult economic conditions and intense competition.

‘Based on the very strong business and first-class team put in place by Bill, Alain is looking forward to leading Aggregate Industries UK to further successes.’
