A new alliance

PCME Ltd have strengthened their position in the field of workplace and ambient dust monitoring by forming a new alliance with MIE Inc, a leading US manufacturer of workplace dust monitors. PCME will be responsible for developing the UK market for MIE's range of light-scattering instruments, and the new alliance will extend the company's particulate-monitoring range from stacks to the workplace for personal and area monitoring of particulates for respiratory health, assessment of air cleaning system performance, fenceline monitoring, aerosol and toxicology measurements and pressurized air/gas purity monitoring.

Also, in conjunction with Halcyon Environmental, PCME are holding 12 free of charge, half-day seminars throughout the UK up to the end of November 2000. These events cover advanced particulate emission-monitoring techniques and the latest perspective on environmental legislation, and offer a wide range of practical ideas regarding technology selection and how to comply with legislative requirements, including IPPC.

Delegates attending the first event in Newcastle commented on the value of the practical sessions featuring isokinetic sampling, calibration, trend analysis and maintenance scheduling on baghouses.
