Technical Services Manager, Asphalt - South East

We are seeking a technical services manager to join the technical department supporting our asphalt and aggregates businesses across the South East. You will lead a dedicated team of technical production managers and quality control technicians managing all aspects of the technical function and providing high quality, multi product technical support.

The role includes responsibility for cost effective production and profit optimisation as well as maintaining product quality in line with regulatory, operational and client requirements. You will promote innovation in materials design and application and be responsible for managing safety within the team.

To succeed in this role, you will need a minimum 10 years’ technical experience in the sector and have a detailed knowledge of asphalt and aggregates production and technical processes. You will have sound understanding of the requirements and practical applications for asphalt standards including; EN 13108, Specification for Highway Works, BS EN ISO 9001:2015 as well as aggregate standards EN 13043, EN 12620 and product conformity requirements.  Knowledge of the Specification for Highway Works and experience of asphalt surfacing activities, including NHSS Sector 16 and BS 594987 is also required.
