Leiths (Scotland) Ltd is a family owned group of companies primarily engaged in quarry operations supported by a Civil Engineering and Surfacing Division. The organisation is complemented by a number of subsidiary businesses including Joss (Aberdeen) Ltd, A Ross & Sons, Fyfe Glenrock, Lawrie Demolition, Markon and M&M Road Surfacing. The group has expanded in recent years to become one of the largest independent companies operating in the sector throughout Scotland. Today, the company employs over 590 people with a turnover approaching £75 million.
We currently have the following vacancy to be based at our Central Laboratory in Cove, Aberdeen for a Technical Manager.
Reporting to the Quarries Managing Director your primary areas of responsibility are:
- The safe and effective management of the Leiths Group Technical Division.
- Maintaining the Laboratory Quality Management System.
- Continuance of UKAS and BSI Accreditation.
- Upholding a high level of product conformity.
- Providing technical guidance in relation to product specifications and technology.
- Ensure professional standards are at the forefront of all work activities and services.
As a Technical Manager, you will need to integrate seamlessly with our production and commercial departments as teamworking is a key element within our organisation.
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and self-motivated, and possess excellent interpersonal skills, and can work on their own initiative whilst under pressure in a busy working environment.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential and you must hold a valid driving licence as travel to our other Laboratories and sites will be required.
