Quarry Manager - Isle of Man

About the role and our team

Join the Isle of Man Government quarry team based at Poortown Quarry as our Quarry Manager on the Isle of Man!

As the Quarry Manager, you will be responsible for our Hard Rock quarries, Poortown Quarry which includes an Asphalt Plant, and Stoney Mountain Quarry, which includes an inert recycling operation. You will use good material husbandry to conserve natural resources and increase sustainability for this limited Island resource.

You’ll also be responsible for keeping up to date with new innovations in the Quarrying and Asphalt industry worldwide.

This role will offer you a unique and challenging opportunity within the Isle of Man Government, reporting directly to the Director of Highway Services of Department of Infrastructure. You will advise the Director on medium and long term strategic developments including capital investment and implement the agreed strategies.

You will liaise with clients of all levels and backgrounds including other Government Departments, politicians, private sector companies and members of the public, so excellent communication skills are essential.

You’ll join our relatively small and flexible team split over two sites.
