About the Role

Located in Cornwall a vacancy has arisen for a Quarry Manager based at Castle Quarry, Penzance. The role that you will be fulfilling consists of the daily operational and financial management of the aggregates quarry and associated asphalt production plant along with a number of satellite recycling centres located across Cornwall.  

This position offers an excellent and challenging opportunity for an individual who is highly self-motivated with demonstrable experience in managing a similar operation.

About you

The successful applicant will have an in depth experience of processing plant management, be able to demonstrate good industrial relations and be able to demonstrate knowledge by degree, DAPS or gained through relevant experience. 

This position will hold a regulation 8 M&Q responsibility so proof of competence by continuous professional development will be requested.  Applicants should have a good educational background and be familiar with all current safety and environmental legislation supported by the completion of or working towards completing the SHE quarry management NVQ Level 4 or 5.

To successfully fulfil this position you will be expected to exhibit comprehensive management control skills, excellent interpersonal skills and possess the ability to liaise and communicate at all levels.  In addition you will take responsibility for financial management and budgetary control of this area of the business.
