MQP is a division of Hanson UK and part of the HeidelbergCement Group. We produce millions of tonnes of aggregate and asphalt to the building, construction and rail industries each year.

We are seeking a managing director to oversee our operational and commercial activities and lead a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the company’s finance, procurement and business management plans are delivered. The appointment is precipitated by the retirement of the current incumbent.

Results driven with excellent communication skills and financial acumen, you will manage budgets, volume and cost control across the business, working to achieve objectives and improve performance levels in all areas of our service and supply to customers – from sales through to contract management.

Responsible for the safe and efficient running of on-site quarrying and asphalt operations, you will ensure that activities are carried out sustainably and in line with statutory regulations and company objectives. You will also facilitate development plans for senior personnel.

Candidates applying for this important role will have experience of successful business management in the building materials sector and have a demonstrable track record in delivering growth and competitive advantage.
