Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor x2
Location 1: Midlands Region (Remote)
Location 2: Northern England Region (Remote)
Reports to: Regional Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager
We are seeking two proactive and influential Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisors to support our aggregates and ready-mixed concrete business in the Midlands and Northern England Regions. This remote role offers autonomy in delivering and supporting each region's H, S & W needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the management and development of the Company IMS and associated databases.
Regularly review and improve Management System procedures with operations management and the sustainability resource team.
Conduct thorough investigations into accidents, near-hits, incidents, and occupational ill health, providing root cause analysis and recommendations.
Liaise with engineers, managers, and contractors to ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
Act as the primary contact for local or national health & safety regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with employees and contractors to enhance regulatory compliance and H&S performance across all Breedon UK sites.
Ensure consistent H&S management across all operations.
Monitor and report on H&S performance and promote follow-up actions from audits and incidents.
Advise on SHE compliance as outlined in the IMS.
Participate in industry bodies and working groups as directed.
Attend and advise safety, health & wellbeing committees.
Promote sustainable practices on operational sites.
Qualifications and Experience:
NEBOSH diploma/certificate or equivalent H&S qualification.
Good working knowledge of SHE legislation.
Experience in a similar role, preferably in the quarrying/construction materials sector.
Working knowledge of ISO management systems.
Full clean driving licence.
Experience in maintaining a health, safety & environmental management system.
Experience liaising with external organisations and regulatory authorities.
Involvement in occupational health surveillance programmes and feedback to management.
Experience conducting accident and incident investigations.
Auditing health and safety procedures and systems.
Knowledge of IMS environmental and sustainable best practices.
IOSH/IEMA membership (desired).
Certified auditor (desired).
Training in Root Cause Analyses (RCA) techniques (desired).
