The Banks Group develops, with care, land for a variety of uses including surface coal mining; property and renewable energy. It is a family owned, County Durham based, business employing around 360 people across the north of England and Scotland.

Our modern plant fleet has been developed to enable us to work sites safely, responsibly and efficiently, meeting and surpassing both high environmental standards and challenging production targets.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join the company’s Plant Division.  Reporting to the Plant Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection and repairs to a variety of plant machinery and equipment located at client and customer premise across North East, North West & North Yorkshire. This will be done in a safe, efficient and responsible manner to achieve all plant department targets and objectives.


Applications are invited from candidates who have an NVQ level 3 in plant maintenance or equivalent. You will have experience in various industry sectors and have a comprehensive understanding of industry best practices, technical and diagnostic skills. You will be required to pin point the root cause of defects and eliminate problems quickly and efficiently. You will have exceptional mechanical knowledge, experience and dexterity, and have excellent attention to detail. You will be personable, organised and self-disciplined as well as safety and environmentally aware.

You will have strong communication skills and must hold a full clean driving license.

First stage interviews will be held week commencing 3 December 2018.

Second stage interviews will be held week commencing 10 December 2018.

Interview process comprises of first stage face to face interview.  Successful candidates will be invited for second stage face to face interview with Personal Profile Analysis.
