We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Assistant Quarry Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the role of Assistant Quarry Manager carries 8(1)(d) responsibilities in accordance with the Quarries Regulations 1999.
You will be responsible for ensuring that a safe and efficient site is delivered. You will therefore be able to demonstrate your competence in the areas of health, safety and environmental compliance. You will be responsible for production requirements including maintenance, overseeing the shot firing process and management of consultants and contractors.
With a passion for the industry, you will be motivated and keen to deliver excellence in all aspects of quarry operations. You will be knowledgeable on Key Performance Indicators and be able to monitor, measure and report on efficiencies and drive through the required improvements/changes.
Ideally, you will have a strong quarry management or supervisory background and large site operational experience. You will ideally hold or be working towards a Diploma in Health, Safety and Environmental Management Level 6. However, this is not an essential and we would be willing to provide the necessary training. Similarly, shot firing experience would be a distinct advantage.
As a member of the Institute of Quarrying, you will able to prove your competence with a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record.
