Xylem launch new intelligent alarm telemetry units

Flygt ATU 900

Xylem Water Solutions have announced the launch of a new collection of intelligent alarm telemetry units for use within utility, environmental and industrial markets.

The Flygt ATU 800 and 900 series offer a robust telemetry device that can monitor, control and relay site asset data from a wide range of conditions. The new device, which meets the Water Industry Telemetry Standards (WITS), boasts industry leading programming (including IEC61131), a modular design for a cost-effective and flexible installation and is available with three different power supply configurations; internal batteries, DC or mains powered. Xylem Water Solutions were one of the founding companies to help form the WITS standards association, ensuring that all telemetry products within the water industry meet a standard level of protocol.

The various power supply options allow information collected to be received either locally or remotely giving the ATU the flexibility to be used in applications where mains power is not available but communication is still required.

In addition, the ATU houses multiple communication ports that allow the device to interact with numerous interfaces and smart sensors. Communication options can be increased further with the availability of IP-based communication including General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) and multi-port Ethernet connections.

Guy Fitzpatrick, market development manager, Monitoring & Control, said: ‘The new ATU 800 and 900 series is the accumulation of years of hard work and is a direct result of the feedback we have had from our customers. The new series will replace our Dynamic Logic D7000 range that was synonymous with low power telemetry solutions.

‘The versatility of the communication options within the device and its general low power operation will offer our customers a reliable cost-effective solution for any specific need, in any environment.’
