Vortex add new rounded blade gate to Titan Series

Vortex Titan series of valves

Latest solution designed to handle highly abrasive material and increase process efficiency

VORTEX have expanded their Titan Series line of valves with the launch of their new rounded blade gate (RBG) – a solution for handling abrasive materials and for applications that may require metering. The rapid actuation of the blade can quickly start and stop the flow of material, which makes it ideal for controlling flow rates.

The RBG can be equipped with a wide variety of actuation choices, including pneumatic, electric and hydraulic. Designed to meet the most demanding applications when handling highly abrasive materials such as minerals, frac sand and fly ash, the gate handles dry material in gravity flow applications where positive material shut-off and dust tight sealing are required.

The maintenance-friendly design of the gate features a replaceable bonnet seal, while the valve is in line to reduce operating downtime. The precision cut elastomer seals minimize material leakage to the atmosphere, providing a safer and cleaner working environment. To extend the life of the gate, the rounded blade gate has abrasion resistant liners that can be replaced as wear points develop from abrasive materials.

The new gate is part of the Titan Series product line that Vortex launched in late 2012. The company’s Titan Series products are engineered for handling highly abrasive material such as cement, clinker, coal, fly ash, sand, gravel, glass and limestone. The valves incorporate several design features to minimize downtime and increase process efficiency.
