Volvo CE launch Used Equipment App

New App designed to give customers quick and easy access to Volvo used equipment in EMEA regions

VOLVO CE have launched a new App designed to help customers access the entire stock of used Volvo machinery in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) markets via their Apple smartphone or tablet.

The Used Equipment App contains details of all used equipment and contact details (phone/email) for each product, as well as a full dealer locator search function for participating Volvo CE used-equipment dealers in the EMEA regions and a specific ‘Volvo Approved Used’ search function.

Nick Rose, rental and remarketing director for Volvo CE sales region EMEA, said: ‘We know that more and more customers are searching for used equipment by way of mobile devices. Up to 40% of current searches for used equipment are via mobile devices so this App puts Volvo CE and its dealers in a prime position to meet this need in relation to used equipment.’

Volvo CE envisage the App will widen their used-equipment customer base and significantly increase the number of product card views. Mr Rose continued: ‘The introduction of the App will fundamentally change the way in which customers search for and purchase used equipment.

‘Customers using the App will be able to contact the specific dealer holding the equipment remotely. As they will be dealing directly with the dealer they will also potentially have access to other dealer offerings such as finance or even warranties.’

While the initial launch is for Apple devices, an Android version is expected for release shortly.

Mr Rose commented: ‘There is no question the development and implementation of this App and the subsequent Android equivalent will attract more customers to Volvo dealers in the EMEA sales region. Furthermore, I believe this development will enable our dealers to be more effective and competitive when it comes to the used equipment offering.’
